The government has honored Palesha Goverdhan, the winner of bronze medal of Paris Paralympics 2024, with a cash price of Rs 6.5 million.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli honored her with the prize money along with a letter of appreciation amidst a program organized at the Prime Minister's Residence in Baluwatar on Friday morning.
Similarly, coach Kabiraj Negi was awarded Rs 585,000 while the team manager received Rs 292,000 in prize money.
A previous cabinet meeting had approved a tax exemption for the prize money awarded in accordance with the National Sports Development Regulations, 2022.
Palesha had clinched the coveted bronze medal in the women's K-44 Taekwondo 57kg event held in Paris on August 30, defeating Serbia's Marija Michev by 15-8 points.
