Valley flooding update: 32 killed, 12 missing

As many as 32 people died and 12 others went missing in the flooding triggered by incessant rains in the Kathmandu Valley so far.

Among those killed are 11 from Kathmandu, 16 from Lalitpur and five from Bhaktapur, said SSP Binod Ghimire of Kathmandu Valley Police Office.

"Twelve people have gone missing while 1,053 have been rescued," SSP Ghimire told Nepalkhabar.

Among those missing are one from Kathmandu and 11 are from Lalitpur.

A total of 1,244 houses have been inundated in the Valley.

Ten people sustained injuries in Kathmandu, five from Lalitpur and two from Bhaktapur.

As many as 4, 510 security personnel have been deployed in various places for the rescue and relief operations of the flood victims in the Kathmandu Valley, said Ghimire.
