Search in Jhyaplekhola resumes; vehicles allowed to pass thru on rotational basis

A search operation has resumed in Jhyaplekhola of Dhunibesi-9 in Dhading amid concerns that more vehicle(s) might have been buried in the recent landslide.

Earlier, 35 bodies were retrieved from the wreckage of three vehicles from the landslide debris.

As of now, two micro buses and one large passenger bus have been confirmed to have been buried by the significant landslide fell from around two meters above. It is said a cliff above the highway collapsed triggering the landslide. A car is feared to have been buried by the landslide, said Superintendent of Police, Dipendra Shahi of District Police Office, Dhading.

The landslide depositions have been cleared to restore the traffic operation.

Now the two-way traffic has resumed here and the vehicular movement has been allowed on a rotational basis. The landslide occurred here on Friday night following the incessant rains.
