Govt grants permits to climb additional 57 mountains

The Nepal government has decided to grant permits for climbing additional 57 mountains.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar on Monday evening decided to allow ascent to 57 pristine mountains in Nepal, said Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung.

"While Nepal is known for its mountains, there are still so many mountain peaks yet to be conquered. A cabinet meeting has decided to allow climbing permits to 57 pristine peaks remained under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation," said Spokesperson Gurung.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting decided to send Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh to participate in the Word Urban Forum to be held in Cairo of Egypt from November 4 to 8, 2024.
