Three killed, two injured in separate accidents in Jhapa

Three people have died and two others sustained injuries in separate motorcycle accidents in Jhapa district.

Two people were killed when a motorcycle heading to Damak from Kerkha met with an accident after it went out of control in Kamal Rural Municipality-4, Amaldangi on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as Anil Kumar Limbu, 33, and Somraj Limbu, 20, of Shivasatakshi Municipality-8, said DSP Krishna Kumar Chand of District Police Office, Jhapa.

"Critically injured Anil and Somraj were pronounced dead as soon as they were taken to Damak Hospital," DSP Chand told Nepalkhabar.

Similarly, a person died when a speeding motorcycle hit a cycle coming from the opposite direction at Mechinagar Municipality-7 this morning.

The deceased has been identified as cyclist of around 50 years old Bigen Rajbanshi. Motorcyclist Abhishek Limbu, 20, and the pillion rider Ramesh Shrestha, 21) sustained injuries.

Of the three injured, who were taken to B and C Hospital in Birtamod, cyclist Rajbanshi passed away, DPO, Jhapa said.
