Arrest warrant issued against RSP President Rabi Lamichhane

An arrest warrant has been issued against President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

The Kaski District Court granted a permission to the police to arrest RSP President Lamichhane for investigation on his alleged involvement in misusing funds from Suryadarshan Cooperative.  

A highly-placed source at the Nepal Police Headquarters confirmed that the District Court Kaski has issued the arrest warrant against Lamichhane.

The Kaski District Court has been investigating the case filed against Lamichhane on his alleged involvement in the misuse of funds meant for Gorkha Media Network from Suryadarshan Cooperative in collusion with Gitendra Babu (GB) Rai, the chairman of the cooperative. 

As the news regarding the arrest warrant against Lamichhane hit the headlines, RSP's cadres and leaders have gathered on the premises of the Central Party Office of the RSP in Banasthali.

Meanwhile, a large number of security personnel have been deployed from the District Police Range, Kathmandu and other subordinate police circles to preempt any onward incidents.
