KMC honors SAFF runner-up Nepali women team with cash prize of Rs 2.5 mln

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has honored the Nepali National women team with a cash prize of Rs 2.5 million.

Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) and Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol awarded the Nepali team with the cash prize for finishing the runner-up in the SAFF Women's Championship held on Wednesday evening.

"Hearty congratulations to the players for unifying the nation! Always keep uniting the country that has been divided by leaders and politics," Balen wrote on social media, along with a photo of himself handing over a check of Rs 2.5 million.

Nepal lost to Bangladesh 2-1 in the final match of the SAFF Women's Championship held at Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday evening.
