In today’s fiercely competitive global landscape, the leap from an inspired idea to a thriving business is as exhilarating as it is challenging. For Nepali entrepreneurs, this path can be especially demanding, often requiring them to navigate uncharted terrain in search of crucial networks, strategic insights, and that pivotal first investment. The International Youth Entrepreneurs Summit (I-YES) 2024, organized by the Federation of International Nepali Youth Entrepreneurs (FINYE) HK, is poised to address these critical themes, bringing together an unparalleled gathering of investors, innovators, and industry thought-leaders, all converging to unlock transformative avenues to entrepreneurial success.
As Director of Funds at a leading private equity placement firm in Hong Kong, I joined FINYE HK because of its commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and young leaders—a mission that resonates with my own dedication to supporting growth and innovation in the private equity and venture capital space. Through initiatives like I-YES, FINYE HK has built a meaningful support network for Nepali talents, offering mentorship and partnerships that help them pursue their global aspirations. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the impact as Nepali entrepreneurs break new ground and reach beyond borders.
On November 29-30, I-YES 2024 will take place at the Marco Polo Hotel in Hong Kong, welcoming over 150 entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors, all united under the theme Empowering Nepali Entrepreneurs: Innovate, Collaborate, and Succeed. Through sessions covering essential topics—such as building sustainable business models and embracing digital transformation—our mission is clear: to equip founders with the insights, tools, and networks needed to thrive in today’s ever-evolving economy.
Inside the private equity and venture capital panel
This year, I am honored to lead one of the summit’s flagship panels, How to Successfully Fund Your Startup – Finding the Right Investor. With my experience in private equity, I understand the pivotal role that securing the right investment plays in shaping a startup’s trajectory—and how daunting this journey can feel for emerging founders. My goal is to deliver a meaningful, engaging discussion that makes venture capital accessible and equips entrepreneurs with practical insights, empowering them to approach fundraising with clarity and purpose. This panel promises to be a landmark opportunity for founders to gain the knowledge they need to build a resilient foundation for sustainable growth.
I’ll be joined by some of the most influential voices in venture capital and private equity, including managing partners from Nepal’s Dolma Impact Fund and the Global Equity Fund. Together, we’ll dive into essential topics, such as:
