Total 836 Nepali workers have been selected by Israel as caregivers for the first phase. The Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) Office of Israel today conducted a live broadcast of the lottery to select Nepali auxiliary workers for employing as caregivers in Israel.

The event was attended by senior Israeli officials, including the Ambassador of Israel to Nepal, officials from the Department of Foreign Employment, Nepal, and members of the media. They joined the event through a live broadcast to observe the lottery, ensuring public confidence in the fairness and integrity of the process.

A total of 1,115 candidates were listed in the lottery process, among which 784 were male and 331 female. Through the lottery, 75 percent of candidates from each category were selected, resulting in a total of 836 selected candidates for the first round.

Ambassador of Israel to Nepal, Shmulik Arie Bass, said, "More than 2,100 additional employment opportunities in Israel's caregiving sector are expected to open soon. Furthermore, Israel and Nepal are finalizing two bilateral protocol agreements on 'Home-based Caregiving' and 'Agricultural Workers, where many opportunities await Nepali workers.'

The selected candidates will advance to the final stages of the recruitment process following medical examinations and criminal record verification. Those who are confirmed medically fit without criminal records will travel to Israel in batches, beginning two months later. Nepali workers recruited under this bilateral agreement receive the same minimum salary and employment conditions as enjoyed by the Israeli workers as per the Israeli law.
