Five killed in Baglung picnic van accident identified

Five persons, including driver, were killed when a pick-up van en route to Baglung Bazaar from Chhishti of Jaimini Municipality-8 in Baglung met with an accident near Byarthala of Jaimini-7, Jaidi on Monday morning.

The deceased are 38-year-old Mahendra Pun, 20-year-old Rashmi Srish of the same place, 50-year-old Nandakali Pun, 17-year-old Niraj Srish and 75-year-old Kulprasad Srish of Baglung Jaimini-8, Chhisti, Police Inspector and Information Officer at the District Police Office, Keshav Thapa said.

Police Inspector Thapa said that the van, Ga 2 Cha 9247, fell some 500 meters from the road after it went out of control.

One person in the pickup van has been rescued alive. Ganga Bahadur Srish, 45, of the same place who was seriously injured in the accident suffered injuries to various parts of his body. He has been taken to Dhaulagiri Hospital for treatment.
