Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba is leaving for China as part of preparations of the upcoming visit of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

According to a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Rana will fly to the northern neighbor on November 28.

Rana, who is leaving for China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, will make preparations for the China visit of Prime Minister Oli. She is also a member of the high-level task force formed to oversee preparations including foreign visits.

The Chinese side has proposed December 2-6 as the date for the China visit of Prime Minister Oli. However, Prime Minister Oli's China visit is yet to be announced officially.

It is still undecided whether she will come back home immediately after finalizing the arrangements for the visit or she will choose to stay with the Prime Minister's delegation, the source said.

This is going to be Rana's first China visit following her appointment as the Foreign Minister. Similarly, this is going to be Oli's first official foreign visit of his third term as the Prime Minister of Nepal.
