The 25th World Congress of Association of Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) is all set to be organized in Norway in 2026.

It was confirmed after Norway claimed the stake with 85 votes against Nepal's impressive 67 votes in the bidding for the upcoming World Congress of the AIMS.

The bidding took place today in Hanoi of Vietnam during the 24th World Congress of the Association of the Organizers of Long-Distance Road Running Races.

TS Thakuri, Founding President of the Nepalgunj Marathon, said Nepal's effort to lobby within the international community failed short this time and thus emphasize the need for strong advocacy and lobbying for such events.

Thakuri, however, proudly shared that Nepal's claim on the global marathon stage remained impressive. (RSS)
