Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba is scheduled to meet with her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on November 30.
Minister Rana, who is flying to China for the preparations of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's upcoming visit, will go to Japan before reaching Beijing, according to sources.
She will leave for Japan on November 26, stay in Japan for a health check-up for three days and head toward Beijing on November 29.
Rana had visited India in the third week of August (August 18). Coincidently, that visit was, too, for a health check-up.
Having known that Minister Rana was arriving in India for her health checkup, the Indian government had accorded an official recognition to her India visit.
During her visit to India, Minister Rana met with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and her Indian counterpart Dr S Jaishankar.
Even though Minister Rana is scheduled to meet with her counterpart Wang on November 30, it is not yet confirmed whether she will visit Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang and President Xi Jinping.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing are making efforts to arrange meetings between Foreign Minister Rana and the Chinese Premier and the President, the sources have said.
The Chinese side has proposed December 2-6 as the date for Prime Minister Oli's visit to China. However, it is not officially announced yet.
Hence, it is not confirmed whether Rana will take part in the Prime Minister's delegation from Beijing itself or from Kathmandu after coming back home from China.
