A new tea processing factory, built under China's Vibrant Village initiative, has commenced operations in Kimtang village, Nuwakot district.

This joint venture between the China Foundation for Rural Development and Global Cooperation for Development aims to enhance Nepal's tea value chain through advanced processing techniques and farmer training.

The project is expected to benefit over 300 smallholder farmers in Nuwakot and Lalitpur districts by improving tea quality, expanding market access, and ultimately increasing their income.

Local officials, Chinese experts, and agricultural experts expressed optimism about the project's potential to revitalize Nepal's tea industry and contribute to rural economic growth.
