In observance of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Zonta, Ncell Foundation, UNFPA, and UNICEF Nepal collaborated to raise awareness about child marriage and drive collective action to end this harmful practice.
The event, held on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, brought together leaders from women-led organizations, the private sector, and key stakeholders. Key speakers emphasized the need for a multi-sectoral approach to address the root causes of child marriage, including poverty, lack of education, and harmful social norms.
A music video titled "Shir Mai Phurke Ribbon" was launched to raise awareness among young people about the consequences of child marriage. The video, produced jointly by UNFPA and UNICEF Nepal, highlights the importance of education and empowerment for girls.

Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Ncell, emphasized the role of the private sector in combating gender-based violence and promoting gender equality. Ncell is committed to supporting initiatives that empower women and girls and create a more inclusive society.
Through this collaboration, Zonta, Ncell, UNFPA, and UNICEF aim to create a sustainable future for Nepal's girls and women, where they can live free from violence and discrimination.
