Prof. Dr. Shiva Sharan Maharjan, the candidate for the post of Kirtipur Municipality Mayor representing the CPN (Maoist Center), has cast his vote.
Maharjan cast his vote a few moments ago at the Jagat Mahapal polling station in Kirtipur Municipality-10.
After casting his vote, Maharjan requested the voters to vote with confidence.
A total of eight parties including Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center) and 10 independent candidates are in the fray for the post of Kirtipur Mayor.
By-elections are being held for the posts of Kirtipur Mayor and two ward chairpersons. The posts of ward chairperson are also vacant in Wards 1 and 4 of Kirtipur.
Aside from Maharjan from Maoist Center, Surendra Manandhar from ruling CPN (UML) and Krishnaman Dangol from Nepali Congress are vying for the post of Kirtipur Mayor.
