The by-election for the post of ward chairman in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16 is taking in an enthusiastic manner.
Voters ranging from young adults to the elderly are casting their ballots.

Shyam Lal Shrestha, a local octogenarian, cast his vote at polling station at Swaraswati Campus in Lainchaur. He was carried to the polling station by police constable Bhuwan Shrestha.
The post of the ward chair was lying vacant after former ward chairman from Nepali Congress Mukunda Rijal passed away.
Devendra Pathak of Nepali Congress, Laxmi Ratna Tuladhar of CPN (UML), Rojina Shrestha of Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Min Bahadur Manandhar of CPN (Unified Socialist) with the backing of CPN (Maoist Center) are in the fray for the post of ward chairman of Kathmandu Metropolitan-16.
A total of 18 candidates from various political parties are contesting the elections for the post of ward chair.
