Sudurpaschim Royals has defeated Biratnagar Kings by 90 runs in the fourth match of the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024.
Sudurpachim bowled Biratnagar out for 92 runs in 16.1 overs while the latter was chasing the 183-run target.
To restrict Biratnagar to such a low target, Scott Kuggeleijn and Abinash Bohara took 3 runs each giving away 30 and 17 runs, respectively. Similarly, Brandon McMullen, aif Zaib, Ishan Pandey grabbed 1 wicket each for Sudurpaschim.
Basir Ahamad's 24-run was the highest for Biratnagar. Rajesh Pulami made 15 runs and Anil Kharel hit 10 runs. The other batsmen could reach double-digit runs.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Sudurpaschim notched up 182 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Captain Dipendra Singh Airee topped the score with 57 not out runs including 3 fours and 5 sixes off 24 deliveries. Similarly, Brandon McMullen made 36 runs followed by Binod Bhandari with 23 runs while Ishan Pandey contributed 21 runs. Saif Zaib and Scott Kuggeleijn hit 14 and 10 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Anil Kharel grabbed 3 wickets while Chris Sole, Ismat Alam, Basir Ahamad claimed 1 wicket each for Biratnagar.
In the second match to be held today, Chitwan Rhinos will take on Pokhara Avengers. The match will take place at 1 pm. Earlier, Chitwan had defeated Kathmandu Gurkhas by 5 wickets. Pokhara is set to debut on the field.
