The Armed Police Force has arrested three individuals with gold, silver and cash worth over Rs 10 million from Bhajani of Kailali district.
The cash and valuables were seized during a security check at Kauwakheda in Bhajani Municipality-5 on Saturday evening, informed DSP Shailendra Thapa, the spokesperson at the Armed Police Force.
The arrested are 36-year-old Mahendra Bahadur Shahi of Chaukuni Rural Municipality-10, Harka Bahadur BK of Birendra Municipality-1, and Mahesh Sunar, 32, Panchapuri Municipality-11.
The arrested have been kept at Border Outpost (BPO) Pagiyapasar under the Armed Police Force No. 34 Battalion, Kailali.
The security personnel recovered 620 grams of gold worth Rs 8,079,561, 8.914 kilograms of silver worth Rs 1,528,460, Indian currencies/Saudi Riyal 611,625 in cash, four mobile sets, and silver-coated cooking utensils.
They were arrested with valuables and cash after their source was not confirmed, said Thapa. They have been handed over to the concerned unit, along with the seized cash and valuables for a necessary action.
