US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu, has met with CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
During the meeting with visiting diplomat Lu, Chairman Prachanda expressed belief that such foreign visits will further strengthen the age-old ties between Nepal and the US.
Thanking America for its support in Nepal's economic development, Prachanda expressed optimism that this cooperation and goodwill would continue in the days ahead, too.
"The Nepal government has adopted a policy to develop energy and tourism sectors, prioritizing agricultural development as a foundation," Prachanda said, "We belief that Information Technology can unlock Nepal's full potential for prosperity by transforming all sectors of development. The cooperation and investment from the international community would be instrumental in it."
Stating that the Nepal's peace process has inched closer to a logical conclusion based on national consensus, Prachanda expressed gratitude to the international community for their goodwill and cooperation.
"We are concluding the process through the national consensus. This is not only the matter of happiness for Nepalis but also for the international community aspiring for peace and stability," said Prachanda, "We are pleased that the TRC Bill has been endorsed, a move that has received an international acclaim."
"We are delighted that the endorsement of the TRC Bill has been positively received by the international community."

Meanwhile, during his meeting with Lu, Prachanda expressed concern over the continued disappearance of Nepali youth Bipin Joshi in Israel. He urged the international community to assist in his immediate release, expressing hope for his safety and well-being.
In response, US Assistant Secretary of State Lu said that the Nepal's progress is the matter of happiness for American and expressed commitment that the US will increase all kinds of cooperation and goodwill for its development and prosperity.
"The international community welcomes Nepal's efforts to bring its peace process to a logical conclusion through national consensus," said Lu, "America has been assisting Nepal in its economic development and this cooperation will continue in the coming days, too."
American diplomat Lu, who arrived on a three-day Nepal visit, is also scheduled to meet with other Nepali leaders including Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, sources have said.
