NC forms 8 steering committees to conduct elections of sister organizations

Nepali Congress has formed eight general convention steering committees to timely conduct the elections for its sister organizations.

Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday formed separate central steering committees to coordinate and assist the ad-hoc committees to timely conduct elections of the party's sister organizations in line with Article 25 (9) of the Statute of Nepali Congress, 2017 (with amendments).

According to a press note issued by Krishna Prasad Paudel, the chief secretary of the central party office, Sanepa, Nepal Dalit Association General Convention Central Steering Committee has been formed under the coordination of Deputy General Secretary Jivan Pariyar.

The Nepal Women Association General Convention Central Steering Committee has been formed under the coordination of spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat. Similarly, Ramesh Rijal will coordinate the Nepal Peasants Association General Convention Central Steering Committee, Bhutpurva Sainik Sangh General Convention Central Steering Committee (NP Saud). Likewise, Nepal Democratic Sports Association General Convention Central Steering Committee has been formed under the coordination of Mohan Bahadur Basnet.

While Madhu Acharya has been assigned to coordinate Rastriya Loktantrik Apanga Sangh General Convention Central Steering Committee, Nepal Tharu Association General Convention Central Steering Committee will be coordinated by Udaya Shumsher Rana. Similarly, Nepal Prajatantra Senani Sangh General Convention Central Steering Committee will be led by Govinda Raj Pokharel.

Every committee is comprised of three members including the coordinator.

Even though the general convention central steering committees for Nepal Women Association, Nepal Tarun Dal and Nepal Student Union were formed on October 2, the Nepal Women Association General Convention Central Steering Committee has been restructured.
