Pokhara Avengers has defeated Biratnagar Kings by 13 runs in Super Over in the 20th match of the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Batting first after winning the toss, Pokhara's Raymon Reifer scored 17 not out runs while Andries Gous made 1 run and remained not out in a one-over eliminator.
In reply, Biratnagar's batsmen Martin Guptill and Nicholas Kirton scored 2 runs each.
The match went into the Super Over after Pokhara Avengers equalized the score while it was chasing the 140-run target set by Biratnagar. This is the first super over match of the NPL so far.
The match ended in a tie after Pokhara notched up 139 runs losing 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
To equalize the score, Andries Gous made the highest 39 runs followed by Raymon Reifer with 34 runs while captain Kushal Bhurtel scored 31 runs. Similarly, Dinesh Kharel and Michael Leask contributed 11 runs each.
In reply, Pratis GC took the highest 4 wickets giving away 18 runs while Chris Sole grabbed 2 wickets for Biratnagar.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Biratnagar notched up 139 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Scott Edwards topped the score with 45 runs followed by Lokesh Bam with 26 runs while Basir Ahamad and Nicholas Kirton contributed 21 and 19 runs each.
On the bowling side, Sagar Dhakal and Raymon Reifer took 2 wickets each while Kushal Bhurtel and Dinesh Kharel grabbed 1 wicket each for Pokhara.
Kathmandu Gurkhas and Janakpur Bolts are vying in the second match of NPL today.
