The Kathmandu District Court has ordered the release of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai on a bail.
In an order issued on Thursday, a bench of District Judge Bishnu Prasad Awasthi released Prasai on a bail of 40,000 rupees.
However, SP Hobindra Bogati, the spokesperson for the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police, said he would not be released immediately as he is under investigation for criminal gains charges, despite being acquitted of cybercrime charges.
Prasai was arrested on November 19 by the Cyber Bureau for allegedly committing cybercrime.
Prasai had posted a video footage on social media platforms alleging that Prime Minister Oli invested Rs 32 billion in telecommunications venture in Cambodia.
