Kathmandu Gurkhas has defeated Pokhara Avengers by 6 wickets in the 24rd match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Chasing the 139-run target set by Pokhara, Kathmandu reached it in 14.1 overs losing 4 four wickets.
With the win, Kathmandu has inched closer to the playoff journey while Pokhara's chance of reaching the playoff has become slimmer.
Stephen Eskinazi's topped the score with 60 runs followed by Michael Levitt with 32 runs while Gerhard Erasmus
made 25 runs. Similarly, Bhim Sharki contributed 22 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
In reply, Bipin Khatri and Michael Leask took 3 and 1 wicket, respectively for Pokhara.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Saturday, Pokhara notched up 138 runs losing 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Raymon Reifer topped the score with 41 runs followed by Dinesh Kharel with 38 runs while Dilip Nath grabbed 27 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
In reply, Karan KC and Rashid Khan took 3 wickets each while Gerhard Erasmus and Michael Levitt grabbed 1 wicket each for Kathmandu.
