The Nepali Army has defused a pressure cooker bomb found on the premises of Universal College of Medical Sciences in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi.
The old pressure cooker bomb was found at around 10:30 am while the gardener of the medical college was cutting a tree, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Suraj Karki, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Rupandehi.
“The bomb was old and rusty, and the Nepali Army has defused it,” Karki said. “No one has revealed who placed it and when. We are still investigating it.”
The handle of the pressure cooker was tied with a rope and devices including a watch battery were installed in it. The medical college informed the District Administration Office after the cooker bomb was found in a bag.
The bomb was defused at 1 pm by a bomb disposal squad of the Nepali Army of the Kali Bhakti Battalion in Bhairahawa.
