Two Indian nationals have been apprehended for allegedly organizing online betting on the Nepal Premier League (NPL) final.
The District Police Range, Kathmandu, arrested them on charges of arranging betting on the match between Janakpur Bolts and Sudurpaschim Royals held on Saturday.
The arrested are Harish Jawa, 47, a native of Sikandra Panchayat, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, and currently residing at Neptune Building, Grande Tower in Tokha Municipality 3, Kathmandu, and Rishi Matan, a resident of the same place, said SP Nawaraj Adhikari, spokesperson of the Kathmandu Range.
The police have recovered five mobile phone sets, a laptop, eight Ncell SIM cards, Harish's Indian passport, Aadhar card, Rishi's Aadhar card and voting card used for betting on the NPL championship.
Earlier, the police had arrested some Indian citizens on charges of arranging betting on the NPL.
