Eastern Command Chief of Indian Army Lt. General RP Kalita.
Chief of the Eastern Command of the Indian Army Lieutenant General RP Kalita has said that the situation at Twang in Arunachal Pradesh, where Indian and Chinese troops clashed each other a week ago, has turned to normal.
Speaking to journalists on Friday, Kalita said, “Chinese troops had crossed the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The skirmishes between the two troops erupted after the Indian side tried to stop them, resulting in injuries to some armies of both sides.”
Kalita shared that the issue has been settled at the local level and the situation has been taken under control.
He further said that the Indian Army is capable of defending the nation. “To protect the territorial integrity is the prime duty of the Indian Army. We are ready to tackle it in all kinds of situations, be it conflict or peace or internal or external,” said he. (With inputs from Agencies)
