Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal arrived in Beijing on Sunday morning for an official visit to the People’s Republic of China. The high-level visit takes place at the cordial invitation of Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Upon his arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport, Minister Khanal was welcomed by Mrs. Roshan Khanal, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

In the afternoon, the Foreign Minister attended a welcome reception hosted in his honor by the Embassy of Nepal, where he interacted closely with members of the local Nepali community. Addressing the gathering, Minister Khanal said, "the current government’s priority is to institutionalize good governance, economic development and prosperity." He also called on the Nepali community to actively participate in the nation-building campaign in Nepal during the event.
Earlier in the day, Minister Khanal planted a symbolic sapling within the Embassy premises. He also received comprehensive briefings from the Chargé d’affaires a.i. and other diplomatic staff regarding the operations, priorities, and functioning of the mission. Following the briefing, the Minister instructed the Embassy to remain proactive in promoting Nepal’s strategic interests in China and to ensure the delivery of efficient, accessible services to Nepali citizens.
