Candidacies registered for NOC leadership amid dispute (with list)

All posts except for President and Vice President unopposed

Candidacies have been registered amid disputes for the new leadership of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC).  

All posts excluding the President and Vice President were uncontested as these posts received lone candidacies on Monday night, the NOC has said.

Three candidates including Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Nilendra Raj Shrestha and Tej Bahadur Gurung are in the fray for the post of President.

Similarly, nine candidates including Jyoti Rana, Gopal Sundar Lal Kakshapati, Prakash Shumsher Rana, Dawa Gurung, Anil Prasad Sharma, Tulsi Thapa, Ashok Ranta Bajracharya and Chaturananda Raj Baidya have filed their candidacies for the seven posts of Vice President.

Rajiv Shrestha is the sole candidate for the post of General Secretary. Similarly, Tasi Ghale, Ramji Bahadur Shrestha have filed candidacies for the post of Treasurer and Deputy General Secretary, respectively.

Likewise, Ramesh Prasad Shiwakoti, Bhim Singh Durung and Ram Krishna Shrestha have registered their candidacies for three posts of secretaries.

Gita Chhetri Rana, Lhakpa Tshering Sherpa Lama, Ram Awale, Manish Joshi and Jitendra Bahadur Chand are in the fray for the five posts of members.

The voting is scheduled for Saturday.
