A squad of the Chitwan National Park Security Personnel apprehended a rhino poacher by opening five rounds of fire in Hetauda on Thursday.
The poacher was taken under control from Gardoi bordering wards 5 and 8 of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City this afternoon, the District Police Office, Makwanpur said.
Acting on a tip-off, a squad deployed under the command of the CNP security officer arrested the poacher with a rhino's horn, SP Bishwaraj Khadka of the DPO, Makwanpur, told Nepalkhabar.
The security squad had to open fire on the poacher before taking him under control while he was about to flee the scene, said Warden Ganesh Pant. "Details of the poacher including his name will be revealed once the arrested is brought to the Office of the CNP from Hetauda," said Pant.
