Nepal has comfortably defeated Malaysia in its last group stage match in the ICC U-19 World Cup. Nepal achieved the target of 46 runs set by Malaysia in 11 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.
In Nepal's victory, Captain Puja Mahato scored 23 not out runs. She hit 4 fours off 32 deliveries. Openers Sana Praveen was dismissed for 1 run and Savitri Dhami for 3 runs. Jyotsnika Marasini scored 7 runs in 7 balls while Seemana KC remained unbeaten for 4 runs. Marsya took all three wickets for Malaysia.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Johor Cricket Academy Oval, Malaysia was all out for 45 runs in 16.5 overs.
To limit Malaysia to such a low score, Nepal's captain Pooja Mahato took 4 wickets and Rachana Chaudhary took 3 wickets. Seemana KC and Riya Sharma took one wicket each for Nepal.
For Malaysia, except for Nuriman who scored 15 runs, no batters could score more than 5 runs. Three Malaysian batters were dismissed for zero runs.
Nur Izzatul Syafiqa scored 4 runs and Ain and Batrisyia scored 1 run each.
Prior to that, Nuni scored 4 runs while Husna and Captain Nur Dania Syuhada (c) scored 5 runs each.
