Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said that he will strongly raise his voice in Parliament against the ordinance controling social media.

Speaking to media persons on the Parliament premises on Friday, General Secretary Sharma said that although legal arrangements are necessary for regulating social media, it is wrong to bring a bill to control social media.

Sharma said, "I will strongly raise voice against the bill that has been registered in the National Assembly to regulate social media."

He said that the content of the ordinance should be carefully considered before deciding whether to support or oppose it.

General Secretary Sharma explained that although NC has previously helped the government pass bills while in opposition, it will oppose this bill if its content is flawed, even if they are part of the government.

"NC has a history of evaluating ordinances based on their content, regardless of whether they are in power. He pointed to past instances of both opposing and supporting ordinances while in opposition, and reiterated that a flawed ordinance would be opposed even by a Nepali Congress-led government," said Sharma.
