Nepal lost to Thailand by 5 runs in the T20I Tri-Series held at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. This is the fourth consecutive defeat faced by Nepal in the ongoing tri-series.
Thailand restricted Nepal to 101 runs while the latter was chasing the 107-run target. Nepal lost 8 wickets for 101 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
To restrict Nepal from reaching the target, Thipatcha Putthawong grabbed 4 wickets giving away 10 runs while Phannita Maya took 2 wickets for Thailand.

Rubina Chhetry's 26-run score was the highest for Nepal. Rubina took 4 fours and 1 six off 30 balls followed by Kabita Joshi with 24 runs while Roma Thapa and Puja Mahato contributed 19 and 18 runs, respectively. The other batters could not achieve double-digit runs.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Thailand notched up 106 runs losing six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Chanida Sutthiruang topped the score with 27 runs including 1 four off 28 balls followed by Thipatcha Putthawong with 25 runs while Nannapat Koncharoenkai, Aphisara Suwanchonrathi and Nattaya Boochatham contributed 19, 17 and 10 runs, respectively.
In reply, Manisha Upadhayay took the highest 3 wickets while Puja Mahato and Rachana Chaudhary grabbed 1 wicket each for Nepal.
