Several members of the House of Representatives (HoR) today demanded time in the session to draw the government's attention to the "false charges" leveled against a couple in Sarlahi for their inter-caste marriage.

The members said that the couple from Barhathawa-10 faced charges simply for choosing to marry outside their caste. They also highlighted the lack of practical implementation of the State's policy to promote inter-caste marriage.

Shanti BK, Harkaaya BK, Ranendra Baraili, and Shiba Nepali shared their views during the session.

Additionally, Sumana Shrestha sought time in the meeting to talk about the ongoing protests on social media regarding the Bill related to social media sites, which was registered by the government in Parliament.
