The Chinese government has handed over the BP Koirala Memorial Planetarium, Observatory and Science Museum to Nepal.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song handed over the museum to Minister for Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai amidst a ceremony on Wednesday.
A science exhibition has started at the BP Koirala Memorial Planetarium, Observatory and Science Museum in Kirtipur from today.
The exhibition includes new materials ranging from the development of humans to various systems and machines of science.
Speaking at the program, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Bidya Bhattarai, stated that China has been supporting Nepal in the fields of technology, development, education, tourism, and science for a long time. She also said that it has also supported Nepal in the areas of international airports, hydropower, and health.
She further said that not only does Nepal share a border with China, but people-to-people relations are also strong. She said that China has created many opportunities in Nepal under the Belt and Road Initiative Program.
Minister Bhattarai said that the government is confident that museums will play a major role in the development of science and technology.
