The Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) has also vehemently stated that the Land Ordinance, 2081 submitted by the government in the federal parliament is unacceptable.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday, party Chairman Mahantha Thakur said that its serious attention has been drawn to the land ordinance.
"After going through the contents of this ordinance, we concluded that the extremely poor and backward communities including Dom, Musahar, Chamar, Dusadh, Santhal, Gangai, Rajbanshi, Rana Tharu, and other poor communities, who are completely dependent on agriculture, will be deprived of its benefits and that this ordinance will promote the trend of deforestation and illegal occupation," Thakur said in a statement.
The DSP has said that it will not support this ordinance unless it is reviewed. The JSP Nepal has voiced its disapproval said that this ordinance cannot be accepted.
The ordinance has not yet been submitted for endorsement in both the houses. The ruling parties Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) have a clear majority in the House of Representatives. However, JSP Nepal is decisive in the National Assembly.
The government on January 31 submitted six ordinances including the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts related to Governance and Public Service Delivery, 2081, Ordinance to Amend Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment), 2081, Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts related to Economic and Commercial Atmosphere and Investment Promotion, 2081, Ordinance to Amend the Privatization Act, 2081, Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts related to Cooperatives, 2081, and Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts related to Land Management, 2081.
