Indian Ambassador, Energy Minister discuss power trade

Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, has paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka. The meeting held in Singha Durbar on Friday dwelt on issues relating to Nepal-India energy cooperation.

Minister Khadka extended thanks to the Indian government for assisting Nepal in realizing hydropower projects, power trade and construction of additional transmission lines through the two-country mechanism.

The Ministry shared information that the Minister and Indian envoy discussed the issues on early conclusion of detailed project report of the Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project, and imminent visit of Indian Minister for Power, Manohar Lal Khattar to Nepal.

On the occasion, envoy Srivastava urged the Minister to facilitate the intensification of the projects run in Indian investment. He showed India's readiness and continuous support to and cooperation with Nepal for the latter's initiative in power trade, development of transmission line, and production of green hydrogen.
