Nepali Ambassador to Australia, Chitra Lekha Yadav, has stated that Nepali media abroad has played a crucial role in connecting the Nepali community.
Ambassador Yadav expressed these views while addressing the anniversary and office building inauguration ceremony of Vachan News in Sydney. During the event, Ambassador Yadav honored various personalities with letters of appreciation. Those honored at the program included former President of the Nepalese Australia Democratic Forum, Ajay Shiwakoti, former President of ANTA, Suwansh Sah, Multicultural Community Liaison Officer, Mun Luo, Nepali cricket coach Jagat Tamata, Narayan Pradhan, security expert Thapa Rayamajhi.
At the event, Anil Pokharel, President of NRNA Australia, emphasized that journalism is an important part of society and it must keep the society informed. Similarly, Krishna Tiwari, President of the Nepal Australia Journalist Association, noted that as the Nepali community in Australia grows, the importance of communication media has also increased.
The event was attended by various dignitaries including NRNA Oceania Coordinator Dinesh Pokharel, Co-Coordinator Arun Thakur, President of Tamu Society Heupati Gurung, Coordinator of Nari Nikunja Sangita Chapagain, former Coordinator of Nari Nikunja Sandhya Shah, and Chief Editor of Vachan News Jeevan Rayamajhi, among others, who shared their perspectives.
