Supporters of Kulman Ghising, the Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), staged a protest in Kathmandu on Tuesday against the decision to remove him from his post.
The demonstrators, carrying banners that read "No to Loadshedding, Don’t Remove Kulman," marched from Maitighar Mandala toward the parliament building in New Baneshwar.
Protesters attempted to breach the restricted area near Baneshwar, leading to clashes with police personnel.

Authorities had barricaded the road with posters marking the prohibited zone, but the protesters tried to break through the barriers. Security forces intervened in controlling the situation as tensions escalated.
The protest highlights growing public discontent over Ghising's removal, with many crediting him for ending prolonged power cuts in the country.
