A tension has flared at the Tinkune area in Kathmandu. Tensions cropped up after pro-monarchy demonstrators broke through the police barricade and advanced toward Baneshwar in a vehicle escorting protest commander Durga Prasai.
The vehicle was cramped with protesters. They threw stones at the police and moved forward, breaking through the police barricade toward Baneshwar. In response, the police used tear gas shells, baton charges, and water cannons to contain the situation.

Tinkune are is still tense. Even now, the protesters are pelting stones at the police, while the police continue to use tear gas shells and baton charges.
Several people from both sides have been injured.
