AUE grants amnesty to 166 Nepalis on Eid

The Nepal government has expressed its gratitude to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for granting amnesty for 166 Nepali inmates.

In a press note issued today, the Foreign Ministry has expressed its sincere gratitude to the UAE government for granting amnesty to the Nepali inmates on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and the festival Eid.

"The Ministry highly values this kind gesture of pardon on the basis of humanitarian ground as an epitome of cordiality in the bilateral relations between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates," reads the press note issued by the Foreign Ministry.

The decision of Amnesty and pardon was taken following the request of the Nepal government made through the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
