The secretariat of former king Gyanendra Shah has said that Nirmal Niwas will not own the responsibility of the violence, vandalism and lootings carried out during the demonstration staged by royalists.

Talking to Nepalkhabar on Tuesday, Dialogue Secretary of Nirmal Niwas Dr Phaniraj Pathak claimed that the vandalisms occurred at Tinkune on March 28 were not carried out at the behest of former king Gyanendra.

Pathak argued that the person who staged the demonstration should be held accountable for the vandalisms, loss of properties and casualties occurred.

The demonstration was carried out by the Joint People's Movement Committee led by Nawaraj Subedi, an 87-year-old staunch supporter of former King Gyanendra Shah.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Senior Vice Chairman Rabindra Mishra and General Secretary Dhwal Shamsher Rana also took part in the demonstration.

However, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, the local government, has already imposed a fine, holding former King Shah primarily responsible for the littering and vandalism committed that day.
