Kulman Ghising, former Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has commented that some people have viewed his removal as their personal victory.
Speaking at a press conference organized in Kathmandu on Friday, Ghising stated that while he has only taken leave from the NEA, his service to the people will continue relentlessly.
"I was connecting electricity at a house in Chepang community in Makwanpur when the government removed me from my duties on March 27, 2025," said Ghising, "Some people may have viewed my removal as their personal victory. I have only taken leave from the NEA, my service to the citizens will continue relentlessly."
The then government led by Sher Bahadur Deuba had appointed him as the Managing Director of the NEA for the second time on August 9, 2021.
"I am proud to have had the opportunity to serve the NEA for the second time in accordance with existing rules," said Ghising.
Venting ire on the authorities, Ghising, who is dubbed as 'Hero of the Light' for reducing an 18-hour long load shedding in the country, accused the government of relieving him of his duties after he tried to recover the long-standing arrears from the industrialists.
