ICC League 2: Nepal loses to Netherlands

Nepal lost to Netherlands in the cricket match held under ICC Men's World Cup Cricket League-2 on Thursday. Nepal lost to the Netherlands by six wickets in the match held in Utrecht, Netherlands. This is Nepal's second consecutive defeat in this series.

In the first match on Thursday, Nepal was defeated by Namibia. Chasing the target of 158 runs given by Nepal, the Netherlands completed it by losing four wickets in 44.1 overs. Chasing a total of 158 runs, captain Scott Edwards remained victorious with 61 runs for the Netherlands. Similarly, Noah Cross remained unbeaten on 34 runs and led the team to victory. For Nepal, Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee and Lalit Rajbanshi took one wicket each.

After losing the toss, Nepal batted first and were all out for 157 runs in 44.4 overs. Arif Sheikh scored the highest 41 runs for Nepal. Gulsan Jha scored 29 and Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 21 runs. After the batsman got out cheaply, Nepal could not make a big total.

With this defeat, Nepal has lost an important point in League-2. Nepal has 24 points from 30 matches. Similarly, with this victory, the Netherlands scored 34 points in 29 games. Now Nepal will play its third match of the series against Namibia on Monday.
