Students have protested against Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel at a special function organized on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of Tribhuvan University.
On Thursday, when Minister Pokharel, who is also the university's pro-chancellor and vice-chairman of the TU Senate, arrived to participate in the program, the students protested by raising slogans. The students, dissatisfied with the dissolution of the Free Students' Union (FSU), demonstrated against Minister Pokharel.

During the demonstration, they displayed placards with slogans such as 'Implement Meritocracy' and 'Nepobaby Education Minister'. After the tension flared up on the university premises, a police team deployed for security has taken some of the agitating students under control.
