Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the Constitution would be amended based on the lessons learned and through the formation of a political committee.
Addressing a Madhesh Province assembly in Janakpur today, Prime Minister Oli made it clear that the Constitution would be amended based on development experiences and the changed contect to ensure good governance and prosperity of the country.
"We will timely amend the Constitution to ensure social good will, national unity and the prosperity of the country. We will form a joint committee from the CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress. However, we will not amend it to open the door for the regressive forces," said Oli,"We should make the public aware of the feudalism exercised by the monarchy in the past. The youths of the 21st century will not accept it. The republic is only the political system that will ensure future of the country."
Oli went on to say that the democratic republic was established based on the people's struggle and sacrifice of the martyrs and this democratic republican system should be bolstered for the prosperity of the nation.
"Nepal and India have good relations. Closeness breeds conflict, but communication fixes it. Hence, Nepal has a good relationship with its both giant neighbors," said he.
