Vijay Chauthaiwale, the head of Foreign Affairs Department of India's ruling party BJP, who is on a visit to Nepal, met with CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' at the latter's residence in Khumaltar on Thursday.
The meeting held between Chauthaiwale and Prachanda discussed Nepal-India relations, mutual interests between the two countries, and other related topics, the sources have said.
Earlier today, Chauthaiwale also met with former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Unified Socialist Party, Madhav Kumar Nepal. During his three-day visit to Nepal, he held separate meetings with NC leaders Prakash Sharan Mahat, Udaya Shamsher Rana, and Maoist Center leader Janardan Sharma.
Chauthaiwale, who arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday, met with NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, leader Shekhar Koirala, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba.
