Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba clarified that the delay in appointing the governor was caused due to internal issues within Nepal Rastra Bank itself, not the political factors.
Speaking at a program organized by Economic Policy and Planning Department in Kathmandu on Tuesday, President Deuba stated that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is positive about the governor's appointment.
"The governor's appointment has not been delayed due to political stalemate," said Deuba, "Oli is also positive about it. The delay is caused by the internal issues of the central bank itself."
He further shared that there is no problem with the ruling alliance as well. "Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has not posed any obstacles to the alliance so far," said Deuba.
On a different note, Deuba claimed that Nepal adopted its liberalization policy earlier than India, and CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) remain committed to it.
"Nepal adopted its liberalization policy earlier than India," said Deuba, "The government should not involve in trades and industries. Not only we, but Oli and Prachanda also remain committed to this policy."
He further said the government should invest in citizens' education and health. The United Kingdom has long been adopting this policy, he said.
Meanwhile, Deuba stressed the need to save jungles to fight climate change and save mountains from becoming barren.
