The meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) has convened today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The meeting held in Singha Durbar dwelt on recent developments following the eruption of conflict between India and Pakistan and the potential impacts of the situation on Nepal and matters related to internal security.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), the meeting decided to scale up surveillance in the sensitive areas such as Nepal-India border areas and airports.
Keeping security apparatus on high alert is one of the major decisions of the meeting, shared Spokesperson at the MoHA, Ramchandra Tiwari.

Matters relating to the security of the Nepalis residing in India and Pakistan in the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan were discussed in the meeting, he informed.
Issues such as additional preparations for strengthening internal security, coordination and information exchange among the security agencies, among other topics, also figured in the meeting, said Tiwari.
The 38th meeting of the Council chaired by Prime Minister and Council Chairman KP Sharma Oli was attended by members of the Council, the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, the Home Minister, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Defense Minister, the Chief Secretary, the Chief of the Army Staff and the Defense Secretary.
