A person has died and three others sustained injuries in a bus-van-motorcycle collision at Tinkune in Kathmandu on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred around 6:30 AM on Thursday near Munibhairab in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32, when the bus hit a Maruti van and a motorcycle, as confirmed by the Baneshwar Police Circle.
The deceased, identified as 23-year-old Nagina Tamang from Nuwakot (currently residing in Dhobighat, Lalitpur), was riding the motorcycle and succumbed to her injuries during treatment at Trauma Centre, the police reported.
The motorcycle rider, Padam Thapa Magar, 27, from Ramechhap (currently living in Naya Bazaar, Kathmandu), was also injured and is undergoing treatment at Trauma Center.
The van driver, Ratna Bahadur Sarki, 35, from Kavre (now residing in Shantinagar, Kathmandu-31), and a bus passenger, Menuka Budhathoki, 24, from Dolakha were also injured in the collision.
Police stated that all the other injured are out of danger.
"The deceased, Nagina Tamang, was critically injured and passed away in the course of treatment," the police said.
